The Spell Fund provided £1,200,000 toward the costs of achieving planning permission for a 474 student apartment block next to Ulster University in Belfast. The developer, after successfully obtaining planning permission, was able to repay the Spell Fund from a forward funding agreement from the ultimate purchaser of the site.
